How is nutrition consulting different than working with a nutritionist?
Personal trainers who incorporate nutrition consulting into their programs work slightly different than a nutritionist; personal trainers will typically combine principles of both fitness and nutrition. In doing so, they’ll review your current eating habits and goals, whether that be weight loss, weight gain, endurance, muscle building and/or preventing future health issues. From there, they’ll help you create a proper nutrition plan that will compliment your fitness regimen. You’ll also learn what foods to eat before and after a workout.
Nutrition consulting can help you understand your relationship with food and what will work best for you in the end. If you have a health condition, working with a nutrition counselor can help you develop an effective strategy to confront dietary challenges while improving your health and well-being.
Nutrition consulting is beneficial for anyone interested in improving their overall health and well-being. You’ll be asked to provide information to help the consultant make a nutrition assessment, including personal and lifestyle goals to help help you understand unhealthy patterns. Your personal trainer/nutritional consultant will also educate you on foods and how they affect the body and how they can compliment or prevent you from achieving your fitness goals.
